Gary Sutton- Great Britains GT hope

Hi Everyone, I thought i would just give you a quick catch up on life here at Team YOUTUBE Twitter. I have settled in really well, better than i expected really, The team have really gelled together brilliantly hence the magnificent results we have been having. Personally my season got off to a slow start, not many racing days but plenty of training miles.
My debut ride in the Settimana Coppi El Bartali didn't do much for my confidence with a rather lack lustre performance in the Italian race.
My first real result came in the Vuelta Ciclista Castilla y Leon where along with my team mates i managed to finish 2nd in a YOUTUBE Twitter 1,2,3,4.
Then came my first win for the team on stage 2 of the Giro del Trentino, what a feeling that was. On the final stage i held my own with the likes of Nibali and Scarponi up the mountain top finish but lost out at the finish, still i was very happy with my form now.
Well i am currently giving you this insight from my hotel room here in Italy as i have reached the first rest day of the Giro d;Italia in 5th place overall but my team mate Jakab Zoltan lies 2nd just 53 seconds off the Pink jersey, so hopefully when the big mountains arrive we can grasp that 1st place, so until the next time keep supporting us and have great days cycling, Adios

Paris Nice Interview with VeloNews and Alexander Lens

Heya, would you mind answering a few questions regarding the stage win for the Velonews ipod updates?
Not at all!

Did you really think you could do it?
Well, when I looked back with a few yards to go, I saw big sprinters behind me. They where so fast, I doubt aboud my victory. But we won, and that is the most important.
Are you happy to also have the KOM jersey?

Reactions to congratulations from the team?
Just after I stoat on the podium, I recieved on message. My dear friend Il Cassano congratulated me with the victory. Also José Alvés told the press he is happy for me

Will we be seeing a lot more of you this season?
I hope so! My main aimes are the Amstel Gold Race, the Eneco tour, and the Giro, cause of my friend Il Cassano

Can you win the Paris-Nice?
Everything is still possible. Due to race tactics, I may not answer anything else.

José Alvés- The next spanish superstar?

How has your season been?
-Until now, my season has been wonderful! I won the KoM jersey in the Etoile the Besseges, and therefore Bob (our DS) let me be leader in the Tour Mediterénéen, which I lost with only one second (!) to Kiryenka. But I was very happy with this result, because I think a 2nd place in the GC is very good too! And I won the U25 rankings there!

What's the team like?
-The team is really great, I don't see the other riders as teammates, but more like friends. But I would be very happy if there would come another Spanish rider in the team by the end of this season, maybe Bob can send a scout to Spain, so we can talk Spanish to annoy the rest of the team! Grin

What are your season goals?
-I would love to perform well in my home race, the Vuelta a Espana, and my training schedule will be based on it, so I'll be in top shape and maybe even can win a stage or the KoM rankings!

Who's your training partner?
-My training partner is Eric (Chen). Eric is a very nice Korean cyclist, and we are good friends. In the mountains, it's always close between us, that makes it fun to train with him. However, in the hills, he is a bit faster...

Enemies in the team?
-Enemies?! Of course not! We are a very close group, and we are not each others enemies. However, there is always some rivalry between Alexander (Lens) and me. Apart from the team, my rival is Vasil Kiryienka, who beated me by only 1 second in the Tour Mediterénéen. He is a nice guy, though.

Whats the DS like?
-Bob? I think he is the best DS we can wish. He is harsh when he needs to, but we can make lots of fun with him.

Intending to stay on next season?
-Well, I of course can't say much about that, that's up to Bob, but I really would like to stay. But Team Movistar and Andalucia are good options if Bob doesn't want me here anymore.

Alexander Il Cassano- Going places in a great new team

How you're settling in?Great, the team mates are very kind.
How the season's going? For the team it is going very good, and we take win after win. For myself, I think I still can do better.
Friends/Enemies in the team?My best freind is A. Lens from the Netherlands. He is my training mate, and we hope we can ride many races together. No enemies at all, the team mates are very nice.
Race Targets? My biggest targed should be the Giro. As I'm an Italian, also Il Lombardia stays high on the list.
Favourite Memory so far?
My best memory is my win in the Tour de Mediterenéen in the first stage. I started with 20 seconds ahead of the bunch and outsprinted Bonnet.

The next update wil be from Timo Bern. See you

Mike Pye- Sprinting to Victory from the start.

Well, it's nice to have some time off after being involved in every multi-day race so far this season, The boys are down cycling round the mediterrenean whilst i sit here relaxed at home, on the one hand i'm jealous because it's always such good fun to be around the squad, but at the same time, after such a hectic start, a week off is never a bad thing.

The team have been amazing for me this season, setting me up and working for me on so many occasions, i hope they feel it was worth it!

I love that photo, and me and Alex were celebrating for a long time after this one! a one-two in our first ever ride together was an amazing result ad since then me and him have been working really well as a team, he works so hard to get me into the perfect position for the last kilometre, and then often shows just how powerful he is by coming along with me. :)

To win the overall at the Etoile was incredible, the guys were amazing all tour, and even though my form slipped a little towards the end, thanks to them, i still did enough to come out on top which is amazing. I'd like to thank everyone here at Youtube-Twitter for the way they've worked so far, and hopefully one day with there help i'll achieve my true dream in life, win the green on that final straight down the champs-elysses!!!

Not quite sure who is next to update, so if there's anyone you would particularly like to hear from, then just post a comment either at the team results page, or as a comment on here :)

Jey-Cy Cavendickx: What a Start!

Wow, i couldn't of predicted the start i've had to this season! Taking both the mountain and GC jerseys in the teams first tour was a dream for me, when the DS came to find me in the second week of January, asking if i would be happy to take on the responsibility of leader, i thank him and jumped at the opportunity.

I'd like to think i did myself proud over the week that followed, 2 stage victories, which would of been 3 if it wasn't for Leiny... he seemed to feel that i didn't deserve all the glory, so the little bugger went and nicked one for himself... ;)  Still, 2 stages and a 2nd isn't bad for us methinks. I was in great shape leading up to the race, and knew i had it in me to take some stages, so when opportunity arose, i took them, and here we are, me with some new jerseys to put on the wall, along with some fond memories to go with them.

So far the Etoile De Besseges hasn't given me much to do, my biggest role this far was playing man 5 in the lead-out train for our sprinters, not exactly what I'd hoped for if I'm honest, but maybe i'll receive an opportunity later on in the tour, rather than just sitting around all day every day in the peloton. Watching Pye over the last two stages has been impressive, the speeds the strong men get up to at the end of a days racing is incredible, and whilst we're winning, I guess I can't get overly upset about not being the name on every ones lips. :P

Anyways i best be off now, but before i go, word in the team is that the rider Alexander Lens will be the next person to update, so get your questions in for him, he'll gladly answer your requests, so just let him know what you want to find out. Personally, I'm off down the pub before tomorrow arrives...

Xou Zheng: New Beginnings

Evening all, Xou here, and i must admit, i'm absolutely ecstatic right now!!! The DS let me have a spot in the team that went to San Luis after the effort i put in during the first bout of pre-season training, and whilst down there, i had a fantastic few days.

The cycling itself went brilliantly, 47th place in the GC was a good result for me, but my attacks on the hills left me in joint second place for the mountain jersey :D I'm really enjoying getting to know the squad, and the chance to help out in Argentina was amazing for me. The DS awarded me his own personal race award, for his rider of the race, the team took me out for a night in Argentina which was great fun, and I'd like to thank him personally, i didn't actually take home any of the jerseys, but he felt my efforts during the race warranted the reward, which really meant a lot to me, what with it being my first ever race.

I think it was important for my own belief, that i got into the season quickly, rather than letting my nerves get the better of me, for that reason, I'm really glad to have been able to get away and attack on a few occasions this year already. Sadly in the GP de Marseillaise, i found myself trapped in the group behind most of the team, and as such was unable to be of much use, i talked to the DS after the race, and he just worked on keeping me thinking positively, rather than allowing myself to get down about things.

The next updating rider is apparently going to be San Luis winner, Jey-Cy Cavendickx, so any questions you may have for him, just leave in the comments box at the base of this post, whether it's about his victory, other objectives for the season, or just what the team is like, we'd love to see your questions arriving. :)
